Proposition is directed by John Hillcoat (Ghosts of the Civil
Dead) and penned by cult music icon Nick Cave. The Proposition is
a powerfully gripping story set in 1880s Australia and stars Guy
Pearce, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Emily Watson and David Wenham.
It is the recipient of
Four IF awards, for Best Film, Best Cinematography,
Best Production Design and Best Music. It also won four
AFI awards, for Best Cinematography, Best Production Design,
Best Costumes, and Best Original Music Score.
The Times
has reviewed it with four stars, calling it "One of the
most powerful frontier films I've ever seen" and lauding
its "Marvelous performances".
The Daily Telegraph
Magazine has made it its cover story on the 15th of October
2005.
